My eyes were definitely glued to his. Not that, you know, I had a crush on him or anything.
"Adam," Ms Jan said, the music still blaring behind, "turn the audio lower."
We walked inside as Adam went and switch the radio off. Then he turned around and stuff his hands into his back pocket, and maybe, smiled a little.
I could've melted then.
"This is, Deima."
"Delia."
"Huh?"
I rolled my eyes a little and I could hear Adam snickering. A few seconds ago Ms Jan was gushing all over with, "I'm so glad you're joining us, Delia."
How can anyone forget someone's name that quick?
Slowly, I turned towards Adam again, and felt a jot of electric when I realized he was walking towards me. And of course I didn't want to be seen like I was falling for him, so I walked a little forward too, before he reached me and held out his hands.
OH MY GOSH, HE'S PROPOSING! AHHH! I COULDN'T BELIEVE THIS!
My eyes started to water and I stared in disbelief, before my stupid nonsensical brain begin to digest.
Why isn't he kneeling?! WHERE'S THE RING!?
"Hi, my name is Adam."
I felt my face fall. And I could feel the burn of my cheeks as it blushed.
"I'm Delia." And cautiously, I shook his hand. Our hands lingered there for a few seconds before Ms. Jan, oblivious to the invisible sparks, cut us.
"So, are you joining?" She asked me, her eyes filled with hope and her fingers wrapped together like she was praying. I didn't even know! She has to give me at least some time...
"Yeah, I'm in." I heard myself say, before Adam dropped his hand and immediately, my attention diverted back to him. His eyebrows were furrowed and he shut his eyes for a while like he was thinking of something really hard.
I wanted to maybe touch him and asked him what was wrong, but noooo, Ms. Jan beat me up to it.
"Adam? What's wrong?" she asked in her overly sweet sugarcoated voice. "You want to go to the nurse, maybe?"
Adam's eyes flickered open and he shook his head, before that pronounced, mischievous smile returned. "Uhm, no," he offered with his hands, "I don't need to. Adrenaline rush, I guess."
Ms. Jan shook her head vehemently like she understood what caused him to have the rush. I just stood there dumbly, waiting for someone to break the silence.
"So, Delia," Ms Jan says, finally getting my name right. Honestly, I don't think she even realized."Come by here every Tuesday and Thursday after school."
I nodded.
"Let's get you back to class." she suggested before I could say no. Adam stepped in, "Ms. Jan, I have to talk to her for a while."
I wasn't the only one with eyes wide open, because as I turned to see Ms. Jan for her permission, she looked almost...envious. "S-sure," she stuttered, "not too long, though."
She walked to the door slowly, her plastic smile plastered on her face as she slowly turned the knob, stepped outside, her eyes still on us, before closing it.
Okay, she is freaky.
"Uhm." he cleared his throat and again, I realized I was in the same room as Adam was. "I'm just telling you that, to drop by during free period."
"Oh."
"But if you don't want to, you always could, you know, hang with the cheerleaders or something. Or, flirt with those idiotic boys or run around meeting the teachers."
He obviously fits into none of these leagues.
"No!" I shouted involuntarily, "I mean, no. I don't...free period, yeah, I'll be here."
His mouth twits before it turned to be a big ear-t0-ear grin. If some other guy did this, I would've labeled him retarded, but this guy was different.
"I'll see you." he said before adding, "You're the only pupil I have, though."
I could almost hear myself cackling.

"Becks!" I ran towards her in the alleyway when I saw her coming out of one of the rooms in her cheerleader costume. Then I stopped in my tracks.
She turned to look at the direction where she heard her name, and saw me, standing there, frozen. "Hey! Guess what!?"
She made it into the team.
"I made it into the team!"
I unfroze and walked up to her, "Of course you did. You're passionate about this, I'm glad you're in." She pulled me in for a hug before her pom-poms rub me in the eyes and I cringed. "Okay, ow ow ow!"
"Oh so sorry!" Releasing me swiftly, she chanted. "I'm gonna be a cheerleader, I'm gonna be a cheerleader!"
"Becks, I have to tell you something."
She stopped and looked serious, "What?! Your mum died!?" She gasped. I gave her the stare.
"WHAT? It might happen."
"But it's not. Anyway, I got into the dance team."
She, too, froze. "You got into? Or...you're just in?"
I put my hands on my hips before I contemplated what to say. "What's the difference, exactly?"
"The diff is..." she sashayed up and down, "PS: Don't you LOVE how this skirt makes me look?!"
Yeah, like someone who just purposely cut their decent skirt to look like a micro-mini.
"Definitely."
"The diff is...if you got IN, you're almost qualified. If you were just in it, it sorta means, you're a...D-E-S-P-O."
My brain fix the puzzle of the words. "Despo?"
"Desperate, girl. Desperate."
I didn't want to tell her I was the ONLY one there, besides Adam.
"Whatever, I have to run now."
"To where?" her question clearly forgotten. I shrugged indifferently.
"Probably to talk to some idiotic boys, weird cheerleaders and go chasing after all the teachers." And I let out a laugh and walked away, leaving Becks all "Whattt?"
"I'll see you later during lunch, babe." I shouted over my shoulder.
She smiles and winks, maybe knowing that I had a teeny weeny crush, on someone.
"Adam," Ms Jan said, the music still blaring behind, "turn the audio lower."
